If you would like to find out more about birds of prey, owls and falconry, visit our "one-seminar on birds of prey and falconry". You will learn interesting facts about falconry, its history and its significance today in theory and practice. The seminar will also deal with the biology and conservation of individual raptor species as well as species-appropriate care, feeding and breeding.
Falconer and veterinarian, Dr. Dominik Fischer, will also provide some interesting facts on health-care measures and select diseases with the use of extensive imagery and film footage. Of course, he will also provide suggestions on how to handle injured and orphaned wild birds, thus giving participants professional first-aid instruction. The seminar also provides tips, aid and potential contacts for falconry training, so that you can answer these questions after the seminar in a competent manner as well. Practical exercises concerning training and the equipment involved in falconry as well as an extensive and informative before- and behind-the-scenes tour of the Raptor Center Hellenthal. After directly handling a raptor during flight training (don't forget your camera), the instructor is available for any questions you may have and you have ample time to freely explore the grounds of the wildlife park. Catering during coffee breaks and lunch as well as admission to the park are included in the price. The one-day seminar starts at 9 a.m. and ends at approx. 4 p.m.
